Places you will visit:
Mauritius is not only known for its exotic beaches and blue lagoons, but it is also a shopping paradise. You can find some of the best places to go and spend money in Port Louis. This is if you are on the hunt for some places to visit and spend money. Le Caudan Waterfront in Port Louis offers shopping at its finest, entertainment of the highest quality, and leisure time that is well worth your time. There are a variety of shops, cafes, restaurants, movie theaters, casinos, the art market, and other sources of entertainment available at Le Caudan Waterfront, a shopping, and entertainment complex in Mauritius which can easily fill your day with exotic memories and beautiful commodities.
Mauritius’ first major shopping mall, Le Caudan waterfront, has maintained its charm as a modern waterfront mall while keeping up with trends.
Citadel Fort, located on the top of Petite Montagne hill, is a fort located at a height of 100 meters above sea level. A stunning and breath-taking view of the entire city of Port Louis is provided by this fort, known as Adelaide Fort (named after William II’s wife, when the British stayed ashore in Port Louis) during the colonial era.
This citadel was built by Colonel Cunningham in the 19th century when he wanted to protect the British army from the enemy. The fort was built in a Moorish style, complete with horseshoe arches. Unlike other forts, it is built of large rectangular blocks. There is nothing more picturesque than the Citadel Fort when it comes to capturing the memories of history than there.
China Town & Port Louis Central Market
Visit this location as part of our Mauritius North Sightseeing Tour.
Central Market is located at the crossroads of Port Louis, Mauritius’ capital, near the harbor, bank, and national assembly, to name a few. As visitors walk through the paved alleys of this Victorian relic, their paths are lined with stone walls dating as far back as 1839.
A number of locations in Port Louis were earmarked for the market’s erection during the country’s time as a British Empire colony. La Corderie Street eventually became the Central Market’s permanent home. Having undergone a major renovation in 2004, the Central Market has become an island treasure. A couple of stalls and a covered food court were added in order to accommodate the increasing number of customers. The first floor was built to house local artists’ crafts.
Mauritius National Botanical Garden
A variety of tropical plants can be found in the SSR Botanical Garden of Mauritius, including many indigenous species. The Sir Seewoosagur Botanical Garden is one of the most visited attractions in Mauritius. In the district of Pamplemousse, the garden is located near Port-Louis.
The Botanical Garden of Mauritius was first established as a private garden by the French governor of Mauritius nearly 300 years ago and has since become a national SSR botanical garden of Mauritius.
Cap Malheureux Red Church
Among the most famous churches in Mauritius is the Notre Dame Auxiliatrice Chapel. This is a Roman Catholic church with a bright red roof set against a turquoise blue sea and blue sky. In the small fishing village of Cap Malheureux, ten minutes from Grand Bay is the red-colored roof church. Due to the numerous ships that have strumbled there in the past, it translates to “Unfortunate/Unhappy Cape”. Notre Dame Auxiliatrice Chapel is known for its red roofs, which attract many viewers and make for a gorgeous backdrop for a decent photo. Built in 1938, this chapel was dedicated to the Virgin Mary.
It offers stunning views of the five northern islands, including Gunner’s Quoin (Coin de Mire) and the northernmost point of Mauritius.
L’Aventure du Sucre – Sugar Museum
Sugar has had an extraordinary existence, leaving a deep mark on Mauritius’ history and identity. It was once as desirable as gold, as sought after as Indian spices, as sweet on the palate, as silk around a woman’s neck. As visitors tour the museum, they learn about the deep connections between sugar and Mauritius. We will end the tour with a tasting of sugar and rum from Mauritius. The Village Shop offers handcrafts and souvenirs, whilst Le Fangourin combines sugar with local flavors to offer a menu inspired by sugar.
Chateau de Labourdonnais
Château de Labourdonnais is surrounded by a beautiful garden and a fertile orchard. The Château de Labourdonnais was built in 1856 and has been the home of the Wiehe family for more than 150 years. His elegant colonial architecture was completely restored to its original glory in 2006.
In modern times, the Château de Labourdonnais is one of the best cultural attractions in Mauritius and is an important part of national culture. Visitors to the region can discover what it was like to live in 19th-century Mauritius. Mauritius offers visitors an unforgettable experience highlighting the history, nature, cuisine, and savoir-faire of the island.

A little bit about us
Established in 1977 in Quatre-Bornes, Taxi Service Mauritius is the first taxi-hailing company in Mauritius that dispatches vehicles to pick up guests on-demand throughout the island. We are most familiar with the North Tour of Mauritius, and it is a popular excursion. We also learned how to provide friendly service to tourists visiting the island. Our online platform and taxi app serve visitors from across the globe, providing a reliable, easy-to-use booking and payment option for transportation. Thanks to our friendly, dedicated & fantastic staff, we have built a very positive 5-Star reputation on our TripAdvisor & Trustpilot profiles in the last few years. In contrast to the competition, we believe that every transfer requires planning and briefing. Based on your special requests, we will send the right driver to you and not just one who roams around your pick-up location. Taxi Service Mauritius ensures a high level of service by planning trips in advance and notifying customers of the driver’s details a day before the trip. Also, that is why we recommend booking at least one day in advance. Basically, we offer excellent tours at a reasonable price (usually 30%-50% less expensive than individual hotel taxis) in Mauritius.
